New Construction Injection

StableSoil soil stabilizer injection for new construction is gaining increasing popularity. The proprietary StableSoil soil stabilizer product is proven and effective for both new and existing foundations. Most production builders and homeowners install the most cost-effective foundation. This usually results in a slab-on-grade without piers. This may be a post-tension slab or a steel-reinforced (rebar) slab. Either type will come with the risk of differential movement due to the expansion and contraction nature of clay soil. There are many factors that will influence the potential movement: site preparation, stiffness of the foundation design, current moisture conditions, drainage conditions and the natural swelling characteristics of the local soil.

By using StableSoil soil stabilizer injection process prior to construction, you immediately stabilize the most influencing area (active zone). This will prevent the swell over the life of the foundation. StableSoil injects soil stabilizer 6-10 feet deep using high-pressure hand injection wands. The injection is on 3 to 4-foot centers directly into the subgrade prior to construction. Depending on the size of the home, most projects can be completed in one day.

Existing Construction Injection

While the causes can be many, most foundation issues result from differential moisture levels in the supporting soil around the perimeter of the existing foundation. This allows portions of the foundation to change elevation relative to other portions of the structure. Poor drainage, the proximity of trees, leaks, climatic conditions, poor soil moisture and maintenance habits are common contributors to this problem. The common denominator regardless of the contributing condition is expansive clay soil. Aside from supporting the building loads, the goal of a structural foundation in expansive soil areas should be to economically mitigate the detrimental effects of inevitable foundation movement.

Slab-on-grade foundations are designed as floating slabs, much the same as a boat floats on water. Foundations do not resist or control soil movement. Rather, they are subject to the effects of soil movement. A properly performing foundation will act as a rigid element that will float on the soil with minimum distress to the structure above.

We recommend stabilizing the soil around the perimeter of the dwelling with StableSoil soil stabilizer injection process, drainage corrections, balanced watering around the home, root barriers and/or other non-structural methods. StableSoil soil stabilizer injection changes the clay soil properties, which reduces its ability to shrink/swell acceptable levels.
