From McGregor to your front porch
Ronnie Wiethorn grew up in McGregor, Texas, small-town values and all, and earned an architecture degree from Texas A&M.
Architecture led to construction. Construction led to years as a home inspector, crawling the crawl spaces and reading the cracks in thousands of Central Texas houses. Inspection led to a partnership at a local foundation repair company, where his honest, straightforward approach helped build the business.
That experience also showed him the value of having more than one way to address a foundation problem. He later sold his interest and founded The Foundation Doctor around a broader diagnostic approach, with six repair methods and an engineer on staff, so the recommendation can follow the home, the soil conditions, and the cause of the movement.

Every inspection on this site, and the guidance published across it, comes from one person rather than a marketing department. Here is who he is and where the judgment comes from.
Ronnie Wiethorn owns The Foundation Doctor and personally performs the inspections. He came to foundation repair through architecture, construction and home inspection rather than through sales, and he built the company specifically because he had watched homeowners be sold repairs that did not match their problems.
How he got here
- Architecture at Texas A&M. A degree in how buildings are designed to stand up, which is the same knowledge read backwards when one is failing.
- Construction. Time on the building side, watching how houses actually get put together as opposed to how the drawings say they will.
- Home inspection. Years spent in crawl spaces and against foundation walls, reading cracks across thousands of Central Texas houses. This is where diagnosis becomes pattern recognition.
- Partner at a foundation repair company. A local firm where his straightforward approach helped build the business, and where he saw first hand how much the available repair method shapes the recommendation a homeowner receives.
- Founded The Foundation Doctor. He sold his interest and started the company he could not find — six repair methods, an engineer on staff, and no financial reason to prefer one fix over another.

Who actually shows up
Foundation repair is not a one-man job. The people who arrive at your house work for this company, which keeps the standards and the accountability in one place.
